St. Vincent De Paul Society was founded by St.Frederic Ozanam in the year 1833 and is composed of catholic volunteers who are willing to dedicate their time and resources to help the needy. An organization started 178 years back in Paris in a humble way is now spread over 147 countries and has become the largest catholic organization of the laity. The unit here focuses on providing food, clothes, habitation, treatment, educational and matrimonial aid etc to the marginalized and the economically backward people of the locality irrespective of caste, creed and religious faith. St.Vincent De Paul Nirmala Matha Unit was started on 16-3-2003 and its formal inauguration was carried out by the Bishop of Idukki Diocese, Rt. Rev. Dr Mathew Anikkuzhikkattil.
